Ability to reference user parameters in the ParametricText window or have autocomplete

just so you know, when i first search parametric text in fusion 360, and get to know ParametricText existed, I jumped in excitement. that's how useful and magic it is to me.

however, it would be nicer to have a way to access or reference those original parameters inside the add-in window, I mean the code can access them I can see some of them at the bottom of the selection field(they can even be shorthand form, how nice again).

that's it, thanks.

Hi, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you want. It is already possible to use values from User Parameters, but you have to type the full names yourself. Do you mean that you want a feature so that you don't have to type them yourself, but instead can click on them to get them inserted?

I don't think it is possible to create an auto-completion function with the limited functionality the Fusion 360 dialogs provide. (The add-in could possibly be rewritten as an HTML add-in to have a more advanced interface, but the effort is quite large).

Unfortunately, the "shorthand form" is just due to the space limitation for the buttons.

I guess one option could be to have a dropdown, below the table, with a list of all user parameters. (Design question: Should this list also include non-user parameters?).

Related request from app store comments: "It will be better if a parameter autofill/selector and value preview could be added.

I have to open Change Parameters and copy the names first. Cause Fusion has the parameter autofill, I never remember the parameter names"
