Losing FFB after starting a new session
Hey, I tried your 2022 version of irFFB but I have a annoying bug. I'm starting irffb2022 and loading a session. Everything is working. Now, I leave this session then enter a new session. Result is a lost of the FFB.
Is there a workaround?
I don't have this issue at all with the original irFFB.
Looks like your computer has a fight going on between DirectInput, the game, and irFFB. I would try re-calibrating in game again with irFFB. Use the irFFB ovrelays to reduce how much you Alt-tab between screens during the transitions.
I am hoping to resolve these DirectInput and irFFB device fights in an updated version I am working on.
Im having similar issue. Once I have irffb working in-game, if I switch to the replay screen I notice that irffb program gives me a "Releasing Direct Input Connection" message. Then when I go gack to the game session my irffb wont wok until I either click on the Irffb Device or Source again.
Once done, I get the message " Acquire DI device with 13 Buttons and 1 POV". That generally will fix the problem.
It's just more if a nuisance than anyting else. I think your adaptation of irffb is a big step up from the original. It definately helps me to be a better driver.

I have a similar problem. Whenever I start a new session, I get no FFB until I go into the iRacing options, disable FFB, close the menu, then go back in and recheck it. Then it works.

@thogue95 , first of all thanks for the hard work bro! I'm seeing a similar issue, so I'll reuse this thread here.
My process is, I load everything else first and irFFB2022 is the last thing. Sim loaded and all, when I'm on the first screen with the big green button that take you into the car, that's when I load irFFB2022. iRacing greyout FFB settings and I can hop in the car and drive no problem. Then I do some laps and crash, of course, so I tow back to pitlane, I hold esc to get out of the car. When I hop back in, I have no FFB at all. In this moment I have to close and reopen irFFB2022 to get FFB back working again. But, it's not every time. It seems to happen more frequently the very first time I hop out and in again, but once I close and reopen irFFB2022 it take a couple of tow/out/in to cause me trouble again.
It's nothing but an annoying bug during practice, but I had it happen to me on a team event when I hop in the car after a teammate had done his stint... that cost us precious seconds until I managed to get out of VR headset, find the mouse pointer, close and reopen irFFB2022 and so on. I'm quite interested in solving it.
I'm running irFFB2022 on compatibility mode set to Win8 and giving it administrator permissions. My system is Win10 21H2, the wheel is a Thrustmaster TS-XW with the Ferrari F1 wheel.
I have tried a couple of different things like recalibrating in iRacing, moving the exe to different folders and storages, other compatibility modes, starting it before iRacing loads and some more that I won't remember of course.

edt01: FFB is turned off in iRacing. I configured it this way so I know I'm not getting FFB from irFFB immediately after I push the car out of its bay. Had situations where the FFB was feeling super weird, and that was because irFFB was down and iRacing FFB took over taking me a time to realise what was going on.
