import plugin for AccuChef files

Open alpartis opened this issue 6 years ago • 2 comments

Feature Request

I'd like to import existing AccuChef recipes, but there is no direct importer. I also do not have a Windows installation in which to run AccuChef and export the recipes in MasterCook format.

I suspect that there may be others with the same desire/need, so rather than create a stand-alone utility to parse and convert, it seems more appropriate to integrate an AccuChef plugin.

Is there information on the AccuChef file format? Or maybe a sample recipe or two? (With some text/printed/webpage comparison.)

I do not have the file format information -- I inquired with the AccuChef author and he simply suggested exporting from AccuChef into MasterCook text format (which is importable into Gourmet). I do have recipe files (index and data files in .ix and .rwz files) but I have not yet been able to fully decipher them.

I had initially planned to create the Gourmet importer myself and contribute it back to the project, but I am going to go ahead with the work-around solution i.e. AccuChef --> MasterCook text --> Gourmet, so this has become a much lower priority for me. This issue can either be closed or dropped to the bottom end of the backlog.
