resizing column doesn't stick between sessions

Open ockham opened this issue 12 years ago • 3 comments

Converted from SourceForge issue 2962330, submitted by SourceForge user beelsr on 2010-03-03 01:54:54 UTC.

Using XP SP3; gourmet-0.15.4-alpha

You can resize the columns in the main window, but they don't stick between sessions.

expected behavior: column resizes shold be remembered between sessions

Hmm is this project active? I'm a new user who just came to see if this issue had been reported and I see it was reported... 3 years ago and still hasn't been fixed? Same with window positions that don't save which is basic desktop application functionality.

Project is not dead, but column resizing hasn't risen in priority in recent years. The code for saving widgets is in gtk_extras/WidgetSaver.py Looking at it quickly, I see that window positioning isn't saved due to a bug with how Windows handles window gravity in GTK. If that's been fixed, we could re-enable. I'm guessing column size saving was never implemented but could be.

For what it's worth, I'd like to see column size saving implemented...

Maybe I'm just a bit more particular about it than others, but I do find it frustrating to adjust the column size and/or order to please my "picky sensibilities", then need to do it again on next start-up!

Gourmet Recipe Manager is a great program, and I'll need to contribute, soon!
