Tags on image and filter by tags
It could be very nice to have the ability to add tags on image and filter by this.
Personally, I'd rather say : no, please don't implement this. Keep PhotoShow simple.
Ok, but so why don't make it possible through a plug-in.
Could it be possible to make PhotoShow "plug-in aware" ?
I think Thibaud had the Idea to do some tags but I am not sure the search would be easy as we do not implement any DB.
What would be nice would be to read and filter IPTC keywords tags, already embedded inside the photos. Many photo managers can read/write these tags. I personally use Shotwell, and before jBrout. See here for alternatives: http://redmine.yorba.org/projects/shotwell/wiki/PhotoTags
Why not use SQLite to manage these tags?
I'd also like to see this. With 1000s of family photos I sometimes just want to search for all photos of my daughter for example, would be great if I could tag the photos and filter.
I'd also like to see this!!! Support write and read a filter IPTC keywords tags, it's awesome and simples.
+1 for this: I used to use jBrout as well and I love the idea of keeping the metadata with the image rather than in a separate DB - that way, any other package can read the tags on your photo without having to import some gruesome slab of database. jBrout couldn't keep up with the number of photos I have!
