gPick doesn't save preferences
Original issue 115 created by thezbyg on 2014-01-14T12:33:55.000Z:
All that you need to know is in the title. When I quit gPick and restart it, my preferences have vanished. I have seen there is no one used variable about preferences in ~/.conf/gpick/settings.xml ... Wtf ? Thank you in advance. ZanyMonk

I can verify this problem. I tried to take a deeper look with "strace". But now it works. I started the program around half a dozen times before, without beeing able to save the preferences.
i'm having this problem aswell under Xubuntu 14.04.1, is anyone know a workaround to fix this?
Can you check the following files: ~/.config/gpick/user_init.lua - should be created immediately after starting Gpick. ~/.config/gpick/settings.xml - should be created after Gpick is closed.
I was having the same issue on a lubuntu 14.04 box. I'm not sure, but it seems like gpick doesn't automatically save the preferences when the system powers off. I edited my preferences and exited gpick manually, then restarted the system and now it did save the preferences.
Hello guys, only to confirm that the steps suggested by @ssantana92 is working fine.
I edited my preferences and exited gpick manually, then restarted the system
I'm on Linux Mint 18.2 (Cinnamon - 64bit)
Doesn't save preferences and stop starting after this on Ubuntu 18.04
gpick --version Gpick version 0.2.5 Revision unknown Date 2017-10-26
After this action, I cannot even run gpick from the desktop icon until I delete settings.xml
I tried to edit settings.xml
using a text editor, but after opening and closing gpick it will switch to the default value
