Changes to the WCA List of Recognized Countries for IOC alignment

In order for the WCA List of Recognized Countries to align with the International Olympic Committees (IOC), several changes need to be made.

The following regions need to be removed from the list: Macau - It is not listed on the IOC list Vatican City

The following regions need changes to names: Brunei to Brunei Darussalam Czech Republic to Czechia China to People's Republic of China Guinea Bissau to Guinea-Bissau Hong Kong to Hong Kong, China (change pending) Iran to Islamic Republic of Iran Laos to Lao People's Democratic Republic Moldova to Republic of Moldova Russia to Russian Federation Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to St Vincent and the Grenadines Syria to Syrian Arab Republic Taiwan to Chinese Taipei (change pending) Tanzania to United Republic of Tanzania Turkey to Türkiye United Kingdom to Great Britain

There are also nine dependent territories with recognized National Olympic Committees that will need to be added: Four territories of the United States - American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands Three British Overseas Territories - Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands One constituent country of the Netherlands - Aruba One associated state of New Zealand - Cook Islands
