Seeking maintainers
Hey everyone,
As you all may know, I haven't had a lot of time to work on this project in the last few years, and I'm actually not even an active user of taskwarrior anymore (I know :-|). Sorry about that!
In order to keep the project going, I'd like to add new maintainers and contributors to it so that people's work can be merged in without me being the bottleneck.
Please reply to this thread if you want to be added as a maintainer or contributor to the repo. Thanks!
I would like to help maintain @theunraveler
Thanks @derekslenk -- followed up in email.
@theunraveler I'm interested
@theunraveler -- I'm interested. I'm using taskwarrior-web daily and making little updates in my fork as I go along. I hate to see this project just sitting.
@theunraveler any progress on this? I saw the large PR #101 from the @cilynx fork but if there is no maintainer to merge, we could better start using the fork.
@cilynx Might be a good idea to cherrypick the open PR's (#77, #79) and incorporate them into the fork?
Hi, thanks for the ping. I'm cool making @cilynx a maintainer of this project if they are still willing.
I'm game and it looks like I have access to merge PRs now -- thank you @theunraveler. @wilmardo, I'll start going through the open PR and Issues this week to see what kind of headway we can make.
I went through the open items today and sorted them into bugs, features, and support requests.
I'll be working through the issues myself over time, but it would be great if we could get some more community involvement as well. @derekslenk, @Zebradil, @wilmardo -- are you folks interested in confirming and tackling some of the bugs? I'd like to clean up the bug list before we start looking at new features.
If we do get some traction from multiple contributors, I'll start assigning bugs and such so we're not stepping on each other's toes.
@cilynx Good job! I'm in — can spend a couple of hours per week for it.
@cilynx At the moment I am not running taskwarrior (and taskwarrior-web). When I get up and running I will look into issues I am able to fix (#97 for instance, easy pick).
I also want to spend some time creating an Ansible role to setup taskwarrior with taskwarrior-web and containerizing everything (containerizing taskserver at the moment). That is what I have planned for my own setup. Two container, one running taskserver, one running taskwarrior with taskwarrior-web exposed to the internet. That way I can use taskwarrior from anywhere.
I cannot guarantee any time sadly, but I will try to keep this alive! (Docker, Ansible and some frontend are my strengths).
@wilmardo, why don't use ogarcia/taskd as containerized task-server? Also take in consideration this repo: Zebradil/taskwarrior-web-docker.
@cilynx it also would be great if you add me some privileges here. Then I can help to keep issues organized.
@wilmardo, @Zebradil -- I created a new thread to discuss containerization without it getting lost in the fray here.
@Zebradil -- being a Contributor, I don't think I have access to add permissions for anyone. (I don't have the Settings tab on this repo.) I believe only @theunraveler can do that.
@cilynx : Perhaps you could ask the taskwarrior people if this project could be moved to the Github organization that manages taskwarrior (https://github.com/gothenburgbitfactory). That way, there could be co-owners on the repo instead of everything having to go through me. In the meantime, let me know who you want me to add to the repo.
I just reached out to GBF to see if we can move this project under their banner. For the immediate term, @theunraveler, it would be great if you could add @Zebradil to this repo.
Works for me.
OK, added @Zebradil as a collaborator.
Thanks @pbeckingham ! How would you like to go about that? Create a new repo and give me push access so I can push it up there?
