Tell us more about your intentions
I think you need to specify what's on your mind for that OS, and what are your next steps, so people can help, and also maybe choosing a way of communicating is a good thing also
Unfortunately, I'm stuck in exams phase in college now, I'll try to compile a list of TODO soon enough. As of communication, I think IRC would be good, I've just registered #aquilaos
on freenode.
@nagyation I've just added TODO.md, it's incomplete but should be enough for now
This repo has real good educational potential. For OS hobbyists and Linux programmers in general. So many things to do from scratch that people can contribute from kernel features to GUI to things as simple as having the up arrow bring the last command in the command line (this should be an issue in itself lol)
Maybe we can use this thread to go into more in-depth details. But good luck in your exams for now
BTW github issues have been used by so many projects (including mine) as todo cards. This mean that instead of having a todo.md file you could actually create an issue for each feature/bug that needs to be implemented/fixed. This should make it much easier for you to manage and for people to see. And there are amazing projects that can help in that regard like waffle.io and the github projects itself.
here's an example to one of the projects that I start but never finish lol https://waffle.io/NotixApp/Journal
@lordadamson That was my original intention (you'll see the first issue was actually a TODO). But the tasks in TODO.md are broad and not very specific, I'll open issues for specific tasks to track progress. For NuklearUI I've a project for it now and should be updated regularly with what is being worked on currently.
You can tag issues; normally projects, instead of closing them, they tag them as : documentation, bug, suggestion, UI, Kernel,.. Etc. That will really help a lot to contribute with you, but I think you must specify your goal wide and clear, and communicating over IRC/Mailing list will be of great help, it's an OS after all there are a lot of decisions to take, and I think when this project reach a certain level a lot will come and help, for me it's enough that I found an Egyptian who share a lot of my interests, and in hope we can make a good community out of this project :D
@nagyation I'll try to make a few code bases and open issues for them. isA we will build a great community :D BTW, I'll be on IRC for as long as possible tonight, if you wanna join. #aquilaos on freenode.
