The implementation of this feature is the upstream idle job implementation with no changes made to it.
We're already using https://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/job/JobInfo.Builder#setRequiresDeviceIdle(boolean) and I don't expect the definition is much different.
Are you using a VPN? It's supposed to propagate this up and may not be doing it correctly.
Does it happen after you reconnect to the network, or only when you set it metered right after connecting?
This doesn't really look like a GrapheneOS issue. Did you disable native debugging in security settings?
@McClunatic No, that's almost certainly due to a USB connection issue caused by a bad cable or bad contact at the ports due to dirt or wear.
