[BUG] speaker doesn't play audio on BANG & OLUFSEN speaker

Firstly I wanna say I'm not entirely sure if this is a sof problem, but from my very limited knowledge of low-level linux audio it seems to be the most plausible source of the issue, so sorry if this is the wrong place here.

Describe the bug Speaker does not work on HP Envy x360 2-in-1 Laptop 15-fe0xxx. IT shows up in pipewire and I can play audio on it, but it has no sound. The microphone and headphones connected via stereo jack, however, do work as intended.

To Reproduce Install sof-firmware and try to use the speaker output.

Reproduction Rate 100%

Expected behavior The speaker outputs sound.

Impact I'm unable to use the BANG & OLUFSEN speaker of my HP laptop at all.

Let me move to the kernel side. This seems like a codec driver issue and should be handle by our colleagues in Cirrus or HP whose hardware this is.

Most likely a codec issue, try the suggestions in https://thesofproject.github.io/latest/getting_started/intel_debug/suggestions.html#disable-sof-on-pci-hdaudio-devices-to-test-audio-playback to disable SOF

That doesn't help either, the only thing that changes are the names of the devices and that the microphone doesn't work, either...

The microphones can only work with the SOF driver, so that's not a bug.

The change does prove that the codec driver has an issue, so there's not an SOF bug proper on the codec handling.

At this point you'll probably have to look at the Windows solution to see if things work better: https://thesofproject.github.io/latest/getting_started/intel_debug/suggestions.html#try-booting-into-windows-first-then-reboot-into-linux and if you have the skills you'll probably need to follow the steps in https://thesofproject.github.io/latest/getting_started/intel_debug/suggestions.html#reverse-engineer-the-windows-audio-driver

The speaker works on windows, but the reboot trick does not work. I'll try to do the reverse engineering...

I couldn't get it to work, the problem is that I didn't even manage to get the speakers working in the VM, probably because linux already initializes them somehow which prevents them from being initialized correctly? Anyway, I'm hoping someone who has more expertise can help with this.
