Google+ features

The demo page says there are additional features if you sign in with Google+, but I can't find anything saying what these features are. Have I missed something, or are they still in development?

Currently the only feature available is your G+ nickname (if you have it set) will automatically be used. This is because I have noticed a lot of people use this nickname field for their ingress codename. Additional features are still in development.

Ah, I had indeed missed that :-) Nice feature.

I've got a couple of suggestions then:

  • would it be possible to auto generate a QR code for the Google+ profile url as a default
  • perhaps read the community link from a g+ profile 'links' entry
  • if it's possible, find the community image from the above link.

I've no idea if they're even possible, and I know the community can be customised by modifying the config and running a separate copy, but I just thought I'd suggest them. Thanks for a useful badge generator :-)

The first suggestion may be possible, but it would have to be pretty low priority for now. The last 2 suggestions may not be possible due to constraints of the G+ API, but I can certainly look into it.

These seem to have been partially added with the last push. I'll have a crack at developing further.
