Syntax Highlighting

I am a programming student and am actively using this template to store all my programming related notes. I love everything about it and have had no issues setting it up thanks to the great documentation. However, I was unable to find any mention or support for code syntax highlighting. Is this a supported feature and just needs to be enabled or does it need to be implemented? This would be a huge help to me.
