Enable publishers to generate lots of certificates quickly

Open sumikasan opened this issue 10 years ago • 1 comments

As an open data practitioner with thousands of open datasets I want to get the highest level achievable for each dataset with minimum intervention So that it's doesn't take too long.

Note - some organisations have a common practice across the organisation; therefore how can we make it easier so that the responses that are common across all the dataset published by the same publisher can be filled only once. As going back to update all thousands of datasets will be time consuming even with auto-certification.

@sumikasan My thoughts on this:

  • write a guide to tell publishers what metadata and format is needed to earn each certificate level
  • work with portal providers to create default metadata configurations that support certification
  • write guide to state what answers can be defaulted for a portal and what evidence you need to see to set those defaults
  • run scan of portal in non-production environment
  • write congratulations letter stating level of success, would you like to go to prod, here's how you could improve
  • after prod scan success, here's how to display badge in your portal, claim ownership, automatic renewals, manual stuff you'll need to to lift certificate level or improve verification level.
  • send links to data download or visualisation to make them feel good about contributing 5000 certificates and compare their performance against the pack.
  • remind them that is a "coopetition" i.e. compete on driving up quantity and quality and co-operate on creating value.
