Getting excited for the wp api. Started poking around and saw the bp api that modemlooper is doing https://github.com/modemlooper/BP-API

and saw yorus for bbpress (thank you!) but saw the last commit was some time ago. Is this still an active repo? If not, what exactly needs to be done to update it? I'll see if I can get you some help.

Hi @beatelite not active atm unfortunately. I hope to update it for v2.0 of the WP-API eventually, but I won't have time in the foreseeable future. If you'd like to have a go at updating it, I'll happily accept pull requests and review the code and/or transferring ownership of this repository to you. :smile:

I'd love to get this updated for v2.0 of the WP-API also, I'd also love to get this merged into bbPress :)

bbPress has not yet had a "featured plugin" merged into bbPress core, I reckon this should be the 1st.

Awesome! Adding endpoints for v2.0 is actually fairly straight forward, especially as the data for replies/topics/forums is fairly clear upfront. I really haven't looked at all if what I have here is compatible with v2.0 (as I don't remember what I wrote originally haha), but it's probably not a crazy amount of work to just start from scratch to add endpoints for v2.0.

The issue is I have a new :baby: at home so am only working part-time for the next few months so won't have time to do that "not a crazy amount of work" haha.

The bbPress team hasn't had any offical discussions about a BBP-API but I'm hoping this will change soon, I'll try to kick things off next week sometime.

Yesterday the BuddyPress team had there first BP-API meeting, I think we should do something similar: https://bpdevel.wordpress.com/2016/01/14/bp-rest-api-dev-chat-summary-for-january-14-2016
