Communication Error 8 on AA 2.9 and GPS 12.2# help required

Hi, can anyone help providing step by step details how to fix recent issue where you get a communication error on AA2.9 with a non rooted device when connecting to ford sync 3.

I was getting this myself, only fix is to update google play services but then carstream will not work anymore =/
