Not prompted for root access on step 16 in carstream 2.0

I have rooted oneplus5t (android 8.1 +Magisk 16) + android auto 2.9 + Carstream 2.0.

I was not asked to give root access when I clicked on the carstream from Desktop Head Unit (step 16). However, it seems that the carstram works from the desktop head unit without a problem. I must note that I am prompted to give root access at step 21 without a problem. Even so I continued to follow the instructions and finally the carstream did not appear in the speedometer menu.

same issue here, xiaomi redmi 4x, rooted, from clean install running carstream 2.0 with AA3.6, Google Play Store 11.9 (seems to be the latest for this ROM or whatever).
