VAE training on M1 Macs.

Do you have any ongoing efforts into adapting the VAE training on M1 chips for Macbook? It seems like the training relies on CUDA and automatically defaults to CPU training instead of training on M1 chips for macbook. Happy to contribute to it. Just wanted to check if a thread exists at the moment on that effort.

We are handling this at scvi-tools, but there are various operations that have not been implemented to work on apple silicon (fundamental torch ops)
