We're opening the PRs to drop EL8 so I don't see much value in branding. On Debian I can see benefits since sosreport there is too old to properly report things, but there we don't have branded downstream products.
4.0 is too old?
It's not really the best. It does include https://github.com/sosreport/sos/commit/7a44309f95325fa35b67d44866a358a550957c2a which helps a lot. That wasn't in Debian 10, but is in 11. So it's not completely useless, but 4.1 and 4.2 saw quite a few fixes from Pavel that are nice to have. 4.3 also contains https://github.com/sosreport/sos/commit/9a6279f76b3c1a8e9cf34f1848b61f0c9b4cc785 which is a Debian-specific fix. It's a shame that Debian 12 didn't update it. Looks like even Ubuntu 20.04 includes 4.3 so that's good.
