SUMMARY

Ability to bring down Puppet Smart Class Params into the Ansible Inventory would be beneficial to migrating from Puppet to Ansible

ISSUE TYPE
  • Heavy Puppet shop via Foreman / Satellite now want to start to migrate to Ansible but would like to use all the smart class params to make this migration easier. Is there an ability to bring the default and override values into an Ansible inventory like the standard params do.

triage:

  • good idea
  • make it optional as puppet is about to become optional and pulling those from the API is probably rather expensive

optional is ideal as puppet is removed from the product it will be ideal to allow customers to use them to then build up an Ansible inventory etc
