Suggestion from u/PeterPorky
The suggestion is this: Let users respond to the sticky of the post with implementations of the meme format suggested in the post. Upvotes to these comment replies would be treated as MemeCoins at a flat rate (rather than a percentage from suggesting meme templates).
This would create:
A way for users to participate and engage in the economy with low risk low reward. (As a user, the risk of losing MemeCoins disincentivized me from posting and only made me want to post during optimal hours)
An increased incentive for user engagement on r/MemeEconomy, in the form of actually using the meme templates, and perhaps x-posting towards other subreddits.
A way for users to get back into the investing part of the economy by gaining coins by other means than post submissions.
Additionally, I have a bot used in r/meme_battles that takes the suggested template and creates a link for a meme generator that automatically preloads the image. If we can place that in the sticky, it would make it very convenient for users to create and use. Currently you need to open it in a new tab, not sure if there's a way to embed it within the thread itself. Example
Further, if we want we can put an r/MemeEconomy watermark inside of the generator- so if a user wants to x-post their comment to a different subreddit, we can gain more traffic here. There are other possibilities I think we can use it for- we can let different firms add their own watermarks with the click of a button in the generator, we can take the top templates in r/MemeEconomy and have a bot post them to r/Meme_battles, giving awards to the top posts similar to in r/photoshopbattles, incentivizing creation of content and integrating both subreddits to take advantage of the Memetary-Industrial complex, etc.
I love the gameifying concept of it and I think we can really expand on it and help the subreddit grow by branching it out in other ways and linking it back to r/MemeEconomy.
