Sound recognition

Open busterix76 opened this issue 4 years ago • 8 comments

As there might be not too much light where such a tablet is located, sound-detection would be an alternative or also a good addition to motion-detection for disabling the screensaver.

A solution, where you could define a db value on which the screensaver ist turned off for a defined amount of time, would be great.

A feature like this can be seen on "Fully Kiosk Browser & App Lockdown", to which the Wallpanel is an almost perfect replacement.

Also, the sound-detection could be used, as seen in other feature requests, for adjusting volumes and recognition of fire-alarms. Or perhaps as an intrution-detection with emailnotification if no one should be at home, too.

I like this feature, for the notification if you receive motion or sound while away, you can send an email or Telegram message using Home Assistant. You would have to have some type of automation to know when you are away or the alarm is set to away. I also have another appliction that is only an alarm panel for Home Assistant, this would be a good addition to that as well.

I like this feature Nice to hear

Yes, of course possible, but i would prefer sending email out of the app, as not everyone uses HA.

I, for example, use iobroker in the moment. But im pretty shoure you could trigger something over iobroker as well

Also appending 1-5 pictures the tablet made during that time, and/or save them to a CIFS or FTP, would be cool.

The little idea is getting bigger ;)

All the notifications could go through MQTT. iobroker also speaks MQTT.

I would assume iobroker would have some kind of webhook trigger or something. The idea is to make the application as dumb as possible and have the automation platform do the work. I have used an email feature in my Alarm Panel to send photos when disarming, but this requires users to use a specific email client, such as MailGun. I would rather have this handled by the platform, which gives users more choices of how to handle notifications.

Thanks for the Info, until now i didnt need it... Seems i have to look into this a little deeper ;)

MQTT is the kind of thing everyone tries to avoid at the beginning. But once you taste it, you'll learn how much simpler your life will be afterwards. I was in the same boat, I'd never go back.

I like this feature,...

Hi there, is there any progress already, or a schedule?

busterix76 avatar Jun 04 '20 07:06 busterix76

@busterix76 it's just an free open source project, pull requests are welcome. But please do not ask if we have a schedule, it's done in free time and there are many feature requests.
