Vim mode, with iPad 13" 2024 I can't exit insert mode to normal mode

So which binding goes to exit from insert mode?

If I do, "i" to enter insert mode, I expect to "Ctrl+C" to exit from it (instead it is like carret return). Status bar changed to Normal, but in Editor I'm still with --INSERT-- mode

"Esc" was not working since start, but then it started to work.... I would like to have "Ctrl+c" to be the way to escape insert mode.
