Can I use regular webcams insteed of Canon?

What I need to modify in order to use regular webcam? I understand it lowes the quality down.

Hi Karabas, You can take a look at the newer version of SLS. There are two ways you can use it with webcams. 1). Use webcam to take reconstruction images and use the example binaries. 2). Inherent and implement the Camera interface with webcam image acquisition, distortion and ray casting.
