Getting Started with Translations βοΈ
There are two ways you can get started contributing to translations:
The GitHub way, simply do the following:
- Fork this repo
- Open up the file you wish to create some translations for. Translations can be found in the
src/translationsdirectory - Now all you need to do is write in your translations like so (Italian example):
"Reward": "Ricompensa" - Once you have completed your translations or have gotten as far as you can, open a pull request from your fork to contribute your changes! π
If you want to see a live example for adding a brand new language, check out this pull request!
The POEditor (localization manager) way:
- Join the project by following this link: https://poeditor.com/join/project/YA8ZrCsxTi
- Choose or create the language you want to contribute
- Have fun translating! π
I have gone ahead and opened a pull request for Italian translations to serve as an example for adding net new translations since a few files need to be edited. I don't actually know Italian so I had Google translate do a bit for me π

Hi, I'm new to Github and would like to contribute
I'm not the best at French, though I did study it for a few years, could I be allowed to add French translations ?
@Cantej Absolutely! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I tried my best to make this issue/guide pretty comprehensive. Super thankful for your efforts π
I went ahead and set French to π‘ (in progress) and added you as an assignee π
P.S. Welcome to GitHub!
@Cantej I went ahead and made thing even easier for ya. I added all the languages we wish to support in this pull request. So now all you have to do is:

- Open a pull request! π
Feel free to reach out if you need any help
I think we are good on this for now and it hasn't really had any activity. I'll go ahead and close it out but can always link back to it in the future if folks want to contribute :smile_cat:
Reopening this as we have done some major localization string additions and need to translate them too.
Current status:
With #374 Polish should hopefully be Complete βΒ you can also add me as Assignee for Polish @GrantBirki :)

Just join the POEditor project https://poeditor.com/join/project/YA8ZrCsxTi ;)
Hello again, I've been busy the past few months because school was taking me a lot of time. I'll be able to 100% French translation in the following days!
I'm in! Starting with portuguese.
Should I translate in POEditor then export and send a PR?
Created #536 and it should make PT_BR 100% done. Also fixed some translations that were a bit off, mostly words we use mainly in english, such as "loot" instead of "espΓ³lios", and cultural aspects like "Mercado" for "Flea Market" instead of "Mercado de Pulgas".
@GrantBirki can you add me as assignee for Portuguese?
German (de) should be 100% with #574
Hello, I am proficient in Japanese and would like to contribute to Japanese translations.
