Error on launching program (invalid WebView2 installation)
Strange; in your EFT folder, do you have a Logs folder?
Yes I do, do you want it?
I don't think it's needed just yet; do you have an Escape From Tarkov\Screenshots folder in your My Documents folder?
I have an escape from tarkov but no screenshots
If you create a "Screenshots" folder, does the app start?
No same issue
Is there anything unusual with your Windows installation that might complicate automatically finding your My Documents folder?
I don't think so even moved the program to my other drives to make sure there wasn't an issue with where it was downloaded
Are you running the app when EFT is already running? If not, does it work if you do that?
I did both but it doesn't change, it runs on my laptop but not my pc so probably an issue with m pc Ill update if I find the answer
What versions of Windows are your laptop and PC running?
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I was curious what deal is with the screenshot process anyway? What is it trying to accomplish? I see it connecting to a web socket and updating player position... but why?
Great question, and I can understand why it would raise an eyebrow. The Tarkov.dev website has maps and a remote control function.
Historically, the way the remote function was used is that you'd put the website window on your second monitor and then load the website on your phone and connect it as a remote control do you could change to certain pages on the website without having to alt+tab or if the game.
If you put the remote code in Tarkov Monitor, the app can act as a remote control of the website and navigate to the appropriate map page when you load into a raid. And finally, to answer your question, if you take a screenshot, it will add a marker to the map that shows your current position.
The system cannot find the file specified. Uninstall WebView2 through windows Add or remove programs interface.
If you can't uninstall it, search in windows for regedit and delete these two entries (or make sure they dont exist):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\Clients{F3017226-FE2A-4295-8BDF-00C3A9A7E4C5} HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\Clients{F3017226-FE2A-4295-8BDF-00C3A9A7E4C5} After you've uninstalled it (or removed the entries), restart your pc and install WebView2 from here.
this is for rat scanner but also worked for this one as well... mine was because of a windows debloat script I had run
@Ludoonus are you saying following these steps fixed a similar problem with RatScanner for you?
Since this seems to be an issue with WebView2 being improperly installed and not a bug with Tarkov Monitor, I've changed the label.
For anyone experiencing this issue, please follow the above instructions to fix the problem.
