poppassd is just not working

Open joejoe opened this issue 4 months ago • 1 comments

Hello

I'm just trying to let users change passwords using "regular old linux accounts" on Debian. It's not working. But Rainloop works fine.

I did this: 1.) Understood I need to use the Change Password extension to control the "Change Password Poppassd" extension. The Change Password Poppassd is greyed out but I can choose to enable it in Change Password.

2.) Problem: it never works.

3.) Now if I telnet to localhost 106 on my Debian machine I can successfully change a password by using : USER "myusername" PASS "mycurrentpassword" and NEWPASS "mynewpassword" but it does not work in the plugin.

Error.... /var/log/syslog.log: "poppassd[1195]: old password is incorrect for user"

But my "old password" was very much correct. Can anyone help me here? Thank you very much.

I'm running Debian 12
