iCloud Account Work Around Potential Bug Introduced?

In issue 850 https://github.com/the-djmaze/snappymail/issues/850, a workaround is described to allow snappy mail users to add iCloud accounts. That workaround involves

Go to admin -> domains and open the domain settings. Disable METADATA

While disabling METADATA allows the iCloud account to load, it creates what might be a bug. sorting by any snappy mail option (date, from, size, subject) no longer works.

Currently there is no bug bounty program. I don't have an iCloud but will look what i can do
