I think it's completely justified at this point. This is ridiculous.
I'm using [tremotesf](https://github.com/equeim/tremotesf2). It works pretty well and doesn't require the co-installation of an almost entire web browser.
For anyone running into this as well: Our workaround, for the moment at least, is to use the `querySelector` or `querySelectorAll` functions.
