Adds Radio Pack to Clothing Vendor
About The Pull Request
Adds a limited amount of radio packs (4 to be precise) to the clothing vedor usable by everyone, but in particular PFCs at which this change was aimed. To trade off the increased availability and avoid "thing, but better", the capacity was nerfed to be a satchel's while keeping the backpack's delay on retrieving items. Price cost in SL vendor was reduced 15 -> 10 since its not a better backpack anymore. Also fixed mention of old CM M6D in engie backpack.
Why It's Good For The Game
With approval from bravemole, I thought that increasing the availability was good for a number of reasons. The radio pack ets never chosen, not by engies which get better choices like the welder pack or their unique backpack which fits engie stuff, and SLs which have to pay a whopping 15 points to get it. The 5 point cost in req is fine, but it gets overlooked in favour of thermal imagers for the same price. Then theres the fact its a niche item: sure you get storage benefits, but its literally just an antenna, which is infinite and free and only takes a helmet module slot (for which only two other choices exist), compared to a backslot for the radio pack. Only benefit is to make your req orders yourself, but considering they still need approval and delivery by an RO, its not much different from just asking the RO for things. So, now PFCs can larp as radio operators without nagging req or engies, hopefully we get better logistics if some marines pick the radio pack and act as requisition beacons for the unga ball. It was sidegraded not to be a "+" option, in addition to sacrificing a back slot for a gun or melee weapon.
Changelog
:cl: add: added 4 radio packs to the marine clothing vendor balance: rebalanced SL vendor cost of radio pack 15 -> 10 balance: adjusted storage capacity of radio pack to take into account increased availability. /:cl:
Sucks for engies, cool otherwise.
автор долбоёб ёбаный. It`s bad for the game. Create radio satchel for clothing vedor, dont kill radiopack

SL without backpack is tupoe govno. And you want to kill cool SL backpack and turn SL to tupoe govno. Why you hate SL? I always buy radiopack when I play SL cuz' it's big storage with cool fictional. But you want to kill this. You want to turn radiopack to tupoe govno tupogo govna govno. if you really do this, SL must have to wear simple marine backpack and this is stuped shit, man. Please, dont kill radiopack. Make some radio satchel idk. Nice to meet you, have a great day.
the wave of people from rutgmc showing how much they love the radiopack is very inspiring
I do agree that a best for both worlds decision would be to have a "radio satchel" available for the clothing vendor and the normal "radio backpack" be untouched so that existing loadouts that use them dont get obliterated and people who liked them inititally would still have the thing that they like along side the new thing.
maybe this might contribute to even more dead/bloat code. very sweet pr nontheless
Yea naw dog. Let the ofc use antenna. I'd suggest keeping it as is.

Bravole literally said not to add a shitty useless version for PFCs. I wanted to add a downgrade for PFCs, but he wanted a single item nerfed.
We already have a good thing going with the current radio pack. Only SLs and Engis are able to buy it round start. If a pfc wants it they should just ask a leader/engi if they can spare it or simply buy from req. we already have the antenna for the helmet, the beacon for supply and a teleportation pad for them to go back to fob on a whim. If this is such a concern to make a good item needed because "I want to". Then I suggest you lower the req cost of it to five. It also helps the xenos if they see a radio pack on a marine they can guess that it's a leader most likely and should target them first. Final rant, the drip. Don't kill the drip by making it a handbag.
I'm just doing what I can. I proposed to give a very limited numbers to marines. Bravemole wanted it nerfed, and despite my concerns for making the pack worse for leader and engie, he didn't want a different version since "it being in the game is already a stretch".
Why radio is needed for PFC? Why you want to kill radio for engi? I dont have space cause im hold engi staff. If you want PFC satchel - make satchel. Also if PFC want - just join as engi or SL, but whey want bonuses whitout responsibility, dont't care about team. Bad for game, Lets just delete engi, medics and SL. Just PVT. make auto-fob builder, rejuv button and change point from SL to nearest silo loooooooooool.
also yeah - SL pay for satchel. Another dead position in SL vendor.
"and play with the extra responsiblities"
[Laughs in PFC+ gameplay]
To be honest who cares what PFCs want. They can put in a 5 point REQ order like everyone else for stuff. Don't mess up the space for everyone so PFCs can get them easier when they can be gotten easy already. .
Wait you're telling me radio packs aren't resprited backpacks and actually has another use than storage?

They act like FOB beacons. That's always been their niche.
More like helmet antenna that you can put in a backpack too, beacons you can just deploy and forget about them till the crate arrives while antenna has the time limit. The actual niche is being able to put requests as if you were on the ship.

That's what I was refering to. o_o
Being able to put in the order yourself is why I take it with Eng. Its great cause you get what your asking for and it take less buttons for the poor ROs or even new ROs that don't have the list memorized great idea don't fuck it up!
Closing this, as I do not think pfcs really need it; that is a special role object and it is good to have some of them
