Unable to use a key assigned to the plugin within the editor or another input field

Open navakelvin opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Describe the bug The plugin hijacks the letter assigned to the command. You can't use it (the letter) in the title field, rename a file or folder, or even sometimes within the editor.

To Play Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Assign a letter to a command in the plugin.
  2. Try to use it to modify the title of any note.
  3. You can't use it.

Expected behaviour A letter used by the plugin should be able to be used for editing purposes.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 11 -Obsidian Version: v0.14.15
  • Leader Hotkeys Version: Last Version.

It is necessary for the engine to try and match the mapped key - which is way its recommended to use modifiers for the first key. This behaviour could be changed: How do you envision an alternate implementation?

I see the point of the modifier, it certainly is a solution.

To be honest, I'm a Vimium user in the browser and with the letter "f" you activate the Easy Motion mode to go in the air through the links. image

In Obsidian, the equivalent is the "Jump to Links" plugin. image

So my intention was with "Leader Hotkeys" to assign the letter "f" to the Jump to Link command. And it worked!!! Only the key was useless.

If there's no solution for this one, no worries ;), is just a very particular use case.
