Jellyfin drastically slower compared to Teldrive web UI

Open SelfHostingAutomation opened this issue 5 months ago • 9 comments

For some reason, playing videos through Jellyfin takes about five times longer to start compared to playing them directly from the Teldrive web UI. For example, when I click on a show in Teldrive, it takes about 3 seconds to buffer, but in Jellyfin, the same video takes 15–20 seconds to start. Are there any optimizations I can make in my Jellyfin settings to improve this?

Thank you.

yeah, even clicking the video in file explorer and letting it play in windows media player is much faster.

Is encryption active? Is the video being encoded, or is it played via Direct Play? Bots active?

Here is my start command: rclone mount --allow-other --vfs-cache-mode=full --vfs-cache-max-age=7720h --vfs-read-chunk-streams=2 --vfs-read-chunk-size=64M --vfs-cache-max-size=100G --cache-dir /root/.config/rclone/cache datapipe: /mnt/datapipe
