Display Number of Search Results in Search Dialog

Open hsvfan-jan opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Describe the feature and the current behavior/state

When I'm searching for specific words in my document, I'd expect somewhere to be the number of search results, as that's standard behavior in most applications. It could be placed after Line: xx, Column: xx and before Selected. At least I find it more important than to know how many letters I typed into the search bar, which seems to be what Selected shows.

Who will benefit with this feature?

Everyone who uses the search function a lot.

@octaeder Thanks! That does indeed show the amount and I quite like seeing all hits in a list.

However, this isn't as comfortable as I'd like it to be as it seems I have to click on Extended Search each time (correct me if I'm wrong). Additionally, the amount gets displayed after the full path of the file I'm currently in. With long paths, this can be a bit hard to see on a glance so I'd like to have this feature request stay open and hope for a more comfortable solution eventually.
