Single-row drop button
Checklist (issue will be disregarded & closed if incomplete!)
- [X] I've checked both open and recently closed issues to ensure this feature is not already requested.
- [X] I am using the newest version of TETR.IO.
- [X] I am certain this is a feature request, not a bug.
- [X] I've thought this feature through properly.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I'm always frustrated when I want to soft drop just one or two rows, but my soft drop speed prohibits that.
Describe the solution you'd like
I would like there to be a key that moves the current tetromino down exactly one row, and it never repeats until you release and press it again.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Another feature request (#582) suggests an alternative solution to this problem, but it's more situation-specific.
Another alternative: Implement firm drop / sonic drop from TGM. The user should be able to change the default keybind of this (whatever it may be) into the down arrow key and vice versa, and have slow soft drop on another keybind.
I preffer the Sonic drop from TGM but the feature seems Okay ish, but a bit redundant since you can lower your drop speed (I use it to x40 instead of ifnfinite just because of this issue)
Post Note: I would like to see Sonic drop as an alternative playstyle because is fun to press down and up (or shake the joystick if you se an arcade set or a gamepad), gives me a satisfactory feeling
You are responsible of failing to soft drop appropriately if your soft drop factor is too high.
So you're saying that it's an intentional design decision, so that it's a trade-off and the player has to choose between having a very fast drop speed and being able to drop to just the desired height to get a tricky tuck? Whether this is true or not, I would guess that many players would like to keep a high (or infinite) drop speed and still be able to do those tucks.
I would want to clarify your statement - either be a normal soft drop or a sonic drop. And yes, many players with about maximum dropping speed will want to do these tucks, but my opinion stands.
Can you explain what a sonic drop is? I have never played TGM. (If possible, can you also explain what a "firm" drop is?)
I have never played TGM as well but I can assure you that a sonic drop is the exact same as a soft drop at infinite factor. (Also a firm drop is equivalent to a sonic drop.)
