Possibly add a message regarding moderation?

Something simple, such as:

[some random number] of comments in queue.

I like this idea as it could give plausible deniability.

Mad person: "I logged in on a different computer and couldn't see my comment!" Site owner: "Oh, it's just in the moderation queue behind those other comments"

I wouldn't even put a number to it. Just have a "This comment is awaiting moderation." message.
