IAP addition request to support development
version 2.10 is available on App Store now. Two more IAP options for donating are included (:h ios-iap
). Thanks for supporting.
I just installed the App Store version, typed ‘:isupport’ and tapped on ‘Big Donation’. Initially, the dialog box disappeared without asking me to confirm or “touch to pay”, so I typed ‘:isupport’ again. This time, there’s an ‘in progress’ indicator spinning in the upper right corner, but it seems to be stuck there. Let me know if you need me to try something else - I’ll just leave it overnight to see if it ever gets to the point of asking me to confirm the payment.
I tried to donate again a few minutes ago - same result, so it doesn’t seem to be working for me...
@mchalkley you can try to logout your account in the “iTunes & App Store” in the “Settings” app, then login again. Sometimes the Apple’s server may have problem, so maybe you can try later.
Or, you can try it on your other device. But please note that the donation IAP is “consumable”, which means they can be purchased more than once. So, you may check whether you receive receipt from Apple or not before you try it again.
I never got this to work, and TestFlight apps, of course, don't have IAP support, so I've still been unable to show my support financially. You have my email address, so I'd be glad to PayPal you or something like that - otherwise, I'll try again when I go back to the App Store release version, your call... Thanks again,
Mark
@mchalkley thanks for this anyway. However, please don't feel mandatory to do the purchase. The IAP in the TestFlight version is only for testing, I tested them right in that. The IAP server seems very unstable, even my testings didn't work every time.
@terrychou I got this to work with the latest App Store release. It took a few tries, but it finally said it went through. Hopefully, they forwarded it on to you... :)
@mchalkley thanks for supporting!
I’m trying to support, but when I click on the button the screen dissapears and I think nothing is happening. I really want auto-restore and not being able to buy in (and support you) is painful. 1) How can I help you debug? 2) Have you thought of setting up Paetreon?
@idvorkin the IAP server of Apple seems often buggy. So far, the only suggestion I can make is to try it more times :).
I hear you, but I've never experienced this flakiness on any other apps. Could iVIM be doing it differently?
I have tried a few times over the last few months, from two different devices, still no luck.
I just bought the auto restore feature. When I click purchase, the window disappear and the help screen showing. If I close the help screen and exec :isupport
again, the window will close and the help screen will show up again, never success. So I keep the help screen on, exec :isupport
and click purchase again. This time it work. Not sure about other option though.
@dangh in the support window, only tapping on exactly the price button will start the purchasing; tapping on other places of one item will show the help info related to the item.
Ahh, now it worked. I didn’t realize that I was dealing with two different tap targets...

The tap tartget is a good tip, but it still doesnt’ work for me after multiple tries.. Is there another way to purchase this feature?
The error message I get is:
Fail to purchase item “Auto Restore”
Cannot connect to iTunes Store. However, I just downloaded apps from the store
Can you perhaps make the app for pay?
This works for me now! You should add a link to this under :donate as well, it's hard to find!
