Describe the motivation In-tree AMD Ryzen SMU access support has been removed from mainline kernel since https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/0a4e668 due to usage of undocumented AMD APIs, causing programs to be unable to report power usage for AMD Ryzen processors.

This out-of-tree kernel module adds back Ryzen power usage statistics for processors up to Zen 3 (Ryzen 5000 series, covering all of the AM4 platform).
