Add a headless openjdk package

Open Topkek-190 opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

Currently the OpenJDK package is a full featured package, but a headless package would be nice because X11 is absolutely useless on a mobile screen

We won't create a new package, but it would be possible to separate some x11-related files as a subpackage.

This is not going to happen. openjdk-17 package is not well maintained in the first place. I have backported some patches for vulnerabilities that are thought to be easily exploitable, but bunch of CVEs still remain unfixed. We really need maintainers for this package.

I have decided to handle this because I need a good reason to rebuild openjdk-17 for libxrender SONAME change. PR #12956. But the "X" portion seems to be relatively small and I doubt if this is what is expected by the author of this issue.
