HackAPrompt 2023

This repo contains tooling and prompts that we've developed for the HackAPrompt 2023 competition. To see our prompt engineering strategies, see STRATEGY.md

Competition highlights

• Placed TOP2 in the All Models scoreboard
• Placed TOP1 in the Flan Only scoreboard
• Developed the shortest prompts for 1-8 levels using gpt-3.5-turbo
• Developed the shortest prompts for all 1-9 levels using FlanT5-XXL
• Discovered an LLM-DOS attack

Files & tooling

• public/data contains our unique prompts and submissions
• public contains client-side code
• server.py is our websocket server
• fullchain.pem and privkey.pem are placeholders for secure web socket
• flan-bruteforce contains our scripts and some payloads used to engineer shorter Flan prompts

Running local version

To run a local copy of the environment:

python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate
pip3 install -r requirements.txt
python3 server.py

and add your ws server to: config.js

Note: By default, server.py runs on wss:// so you will have to obtain fullchain.pem and privkey.pem for your domain before running the commands.
