General updates and improvements

Hi, I'd like to contribute some improvements to this project:

  • add commands to open/blame file at a specific line (or range of lines)
  • modernize how settings (and defaults) are handled and presented to users
  • fix #23 to support symlinks
  • fix #37 add a context menu

Additionally I'd like to help maintain this project. Seeing as how issues and PR's have been sitting unattended for years, it might be easier if your package control entry is replaced with my fork of your project. Just let me know if and how you'd like to handle that.
