FWIW, I use UNP 4.12 to depack these files under Dosbox-X. If this is something you consider adding support for, it might be worth reversing that to see what it does. Also supports a bunch of other dos-era compressors.

I did some investigation and while I have previously drawn border of not implementing executable packers, this seems to be implementable (at least in its unobfuscated form). But it also has to practical implementation

It is easily identifiable
It seems to be non-lossy compression i.e. you can go back to working executable again
Also, it is rather popular.

I'll investigate and if I see there is value adding support to it (what existing tools do not yet do) I'll implement it
