When trying to read/query value from a contract, it asks to sign with a wallet. This is not necessary.

related to the above - when you try to sign in with metamask, if you cancel the sign-in request just before confirming it, it keeps repeatedly asking to sign in again and again, when refreshing the page(main) or opening it in new tab
