More granular selection of which accounts to get notifications from
Is your feature request related to a problem?
When you use multiple accounts, you may want to get notifications from:
- all accounts always
- only from the account you are currently using at each time
- the one you are currently using plus the ones you select (from a list of all accounts)
- only the ones you select regardless of which one you are currently using, even when the one you are using is not among them
All of these have legitimate use cases.
I, for example, have 3 accounts, my personal one plus a couple that I only use for testing purposes, and I would like to always only get notifications from my main account, even when I'm temporarily using one of the others.
Currently the only available options are the first two.
Describe the solution you'd like
Any UI that allows me to do any of the above.
Maybe a set of radio buttons where you chose between:
- all accounts
- only the account you are currently using
- the account you are currently using plus the ones selected below
- only the accounts selected below
and below that there's a set of checkboxes, one per account, which only become enabled when you select options 3 or 4 above.
Describe alternatives you've considered
I had considered this:
- one checkbox "always receive notifications from the account you are currently using"
- a set of checkboxes, one per account, titled something like "always get notifications from these accounts" (of which you can select all, none, or some); and a "select/deselect all" shortcut
but this doesn't work if you always want notifications for all account, and at some point you add a new account (you would need to remember to go to the settings and select the new one too).
