Telegram Crashing Shortly after Opening on Windows
Steps to reproduce
Open Telegram Telegram Closes 1-30 seconds later
Expected behaviour
Telegram should not crash.
Actual behaviour
When I open telegram it automatically closes shortly after, sometimes immediately but always within 30 seconds. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and now am on the beta version as well. I do not receive the crash dialog when I re-open but I do have the Beta installed. This started a several months ago and happens EVERY time I open telegram. I did submit a report on Telegram's official website as well.
Operating system
Windows 10 64x
Version of Telegram Desktop
5.12.6 beta
Installation source
Static binary from official website
Crash ID
No response

I previously reported this in another bug issue 29049. Another commenter marked it as closed, but my issue has not been fixed. I've reinstalled the newest beta from the telegram website, I do not receive a crash dialogue when re-opening, and the crash often happens so quick that there is no time to change any settings. The crash also happens regardless of my interaction with the application.
https://github.com/telegramdesktop/tdesktop/issues/29049#issuecomment-2725344185
I accidentally chose "close with comment" earlier.
It's sadly impossible to help you without a crash ID or working steps to reproduce (what you specified isn't right or no one would be able to use Telegram).
The only thing I can suggest as-is is to reinstall your OS. If the issue appears again, remember anything you did since the OS installation and you will most likely find the missing part to reproduce in one of those actions.
I just did a full uninstall of Telegram, and reinstalled from the installer tsetup-x64.5.14.3.exe. And it closes on it's own on the "Start Messaging" screen before I even log into the application. Nothing else on my PC is showing instability, but something seems to just cause telegram to close. Usually the icon even stays in the system tray as if it crashed but no crash log is created in the AppData folder. I've been using Telegram for years but at some point in March this started happening with no system changes made to my PC.
I've run a windows defender scan, and scans with CCleaner and Spybot search and destroy. I've closed all other applications, I've even crawled through the Event Viewer and nothing seems to correspond to the closing of telegram. It's as if every time I open it, I alt+F4. It closes if its in the foreground, background or even minimized to the system tray.
Are there any other tools that I could use to monitor or get some sort of report on the crash?

The only thing I can suggest is to build tdesktop from sources and running it under debugger. But something suggests me you're not going to do that.

Honestly I don't know if there was an auto update. I don't really track my updates that frequently and my old work around for turning off auto updates doesn't seem to work as I can only seem to pause them these days. I don't use my PC as much as I used to so not having it accessible hasn't been a huge issue, so I've not bothered digging into it until this post and dug through a lot of places where I've found problems with other apps I've used that I've been able to solve.
Are there any other tools that I could use to monitor or get some sort of report on the crash?
The only thing I can suggest is to build tdesktop from sources and running it under debugger. But something suggests me you're not going to do that.
Ugh, do I have to put Visual Studio on my PC? I kinda gave up any non-work related coding when I moved into incident management and operations so I'm a rusty. I have a degree and a decade of experience that says I can do it, but you're right I probably won't at least until I get back into using my PC and not having telegram there breaks down communication with my friends because I don't check my phone.
but at some point in March this started happening with no system changes made to my PC
Even no Windows/driver updates?
Honestly I don't know if there was an auto update. I don't really track my updates that frequently and my old work around for turning off auto updates doesn't seem to work as I can only seem to pause them these days. I don't use my PC as much as I used to so not having it accessible hasn't been a huge issue, so I've not bothered digging into it until this post and dug through a lot of places where I've found problems with other apps I've used that I've been able to solve.

you can try with one bootable windows live dvd like sergei to see if it crashes, if it doesn't something is broken on your windows installation

I bet there was and it's the cause
