Telegram Desktop 1.8.15 Doesn't Go Past The Code Verification
Steps to reproduce
- Terminate all active sessions
- Try to log back in by typing your phone number in the corresponding field.
- Typing the code received on an iOS device in the code verification field results in the message "Internal server error" and the field is highlighted in red unless hitting "Return". Clicking on "Next" has no effect.

@scrutinizer11 Can you copy "log.txt" from "~/Library/Application Support/Telegram Desktop/" here?

I cannot "update to login" because macOS 10.9 is the latest for 1.8.15
i suggest you to change to one more modern macos, or some linux distribution, if you can login you will be unable to contact to the more modern users and groups and channels.
if you cannot change of os maybe you can use telegram web using https://www.maxthon.com/mac/
Thanks, but I don't use Chinese software.
So, is it possible to compile TGDesktop to use on older macOS than recommended for the current build? I don't need all the bells and whistles, I just want the features I already had back. I don't need discussions, chat folders etc. BTW, the older versions worked better and loaded media faster than the web version or the iOS counterpart.
Or, if it's not could you modify the back end to grant authorization for version 1? I just tried and wasn't able to complete it, as per my original report.
@scrutinizer11 it's not the features that increase minimal supported OS version, it's Qt. So if you provide a patch to build latest Qt for your OS version then no problem I guess.
@scrutinizer11 Do you have a working Telegram on a mobile device (you wrote iOS) when you try? You enter the phone number, the code is received on mobile Telegram app and you enter it in Telegram Desktop? And only after that you get the error message?
When I type in the code in the code authorization field in Telegram Desktop, I see the line Internal server error appearing underneath. Clicking on Next doesn't forward me to my account.
