Telegram Premium - Low download speed when using "Export chat history"
Steps to reproduce
Note: I have a one Gigabit/s connection in download.
- Open a new channel with a telegram premium account (premium subscribers are able to download media and files at the fastest possible speed) and add a contact of your choice
- Send in the channel a file, of about 500Mb
TEST 1: "Save as"
- Download the file by right-clicking on it "Save as" (using telegram premium account)
- The download speed is about 9 Megabyte/s
TEST 2: "Export chat history"
- Download the whole channel using the "Export chat history" function (using telegram premium account). Note: there is only one message in the channel which is the 500Mb file
- The download speed is about 2 Megabyte/s
Expected behaviour
The download speed using the "Export chat history" function is the same (and not lower) than downloading the same file using "Save as".
Actual behaviour
The download speed using the "Export chat history" function is lower (2 Megabyte/s) than downloading the same file using "Save as" (9 Megabyte/s).
Operating system
openSUSE
Version of Telegram Desktop
4.0.2
Installation source

For now the download speed improvements, mentioned in the Telegram Premium promo, can't be used in data export. Maybe it'll improve later.
@john-preston please fix it !
That's why I cancelled my premium after five minutes, unlimited download speeds was major selling factor and it just doesn't work as advertised.
Are the developers thinking of fixing this problem? I am really uncomfortable with this issue. I have hundreds of thousands of files that I need to back up, but the speed is too slow to do the job.
