Feature request

Need to support more languages and maintain the current ones

Use case

Supporting more languages would be helpful for users globally.

Alternatives

Users might be able to google website translation feature, but it would be great if we can provide the translation internally based on the browser/OS language.

Thanks for your interest @Ratheshan03. I'm not sure we've had any requests for Tamil support before, but if you're willing to contribute the translations and maintain them in future as the Dashboard is updated we could consider it.

On a related note…

We may need to find a different way to manage the translations in future. The previous maintainers of the Chinese and Japanese translations are no longer active in the project and as a result those translations have fallen out of date. We'll likely disable them by default in a future release unless we can find new maintainers for them.

One option is that we may not enable translations by default. Instead we could allow users to opt-in, with the disclaimer that translations may be incomplete. This still needs some thought and discussion, so is not currently planned. Just making note of it here as an option for future consideration.

Closing for now as there's no current plan to expand the number of languages provided and we do not have active owners for the existing translations. We can revisit this in future if there's strong community support for maintaining the translations.
