TMC5160 Pro SD_Mode and Microstep HELP NEEDED

Hello, I wanted to know if you had to set the TMC5160 Pro to SD_Mode 0 in order to use the internal ramp generator or you could still use it in SD_Mode 1? So, basically is it just code or do you have to change the hardware too? Also how do you microstep with the TMC5160 Pro it is not clear in the data sheet and there are not many resources.
