Ability to sort bookmarks by website into a specific folder

I always want pages I bookmark on onlyinyourstate.com to always be in my "onlyinyourstate.com" folder in Other Bookmarks on Firefox for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. I think a great new version 3.0 feature would be to allow me to specify this in the add-on. I will contribute $25 if the developers will consider this!

Similarly, I always want everything I bookmark on washingtonian.com to be in my "washingtonian.com" folder in Other Bookmarks. This'll save me the trouble of hunting and fishing for the folder each time in Firefox's bookmarks editor! I hope to see a version 3.0 sometime in the next 365 days, by Oct. 28, 2019!

I can definitely see how having a system matching a specific URL (or pattern) to a predetermined folder would be useful! That is good idea. 🙂 We could even envision the ability to apply this system to the bookmarks created via the built-in system and/or the quick bookmarking system (depending on the user's preferences).

I have added this feature request to the 3.0 milestone. Hopefully I will be able to release it before a full year has passed. 😉

Bookmark Flypaper, an add-on that no longer works in Quantum and doesn't appear to be developed anymore, was able to automatically save any opened tab bookmark to a specific folder if it matched a certain regex expression. An options page allowed you to see a tree of your bookmark folders where you could enter the regex expressions.

So same idea, but with automatic bookmarking.
