I usually only show the main version number in the uLisp prompt (eg 2.8), not minor updates (eg a). Perhaps your suggestion is better...

it's not that important. I was just bit confused after update, when my board welcomed me with 2.8 ver I wasn't sure if I updated it or not ;)

I agree that you made a good point, and I've now started showing the minor update letter in the uLisp prompt. For example, in ARM uLisp 4.3a.
